- IC Chip
- Identifier
- no serial number
- Country of Origin
- Japan

- Manufacturer
- Either HITACHI, RENESAS or both. On April 1, 2003 both companies decided to have a joint venture so they use each others parts and help each other out. So it is likely that becuase both of these companies names are under this product, they both had a hand in making it. It is likely it was made by RENESAS and sold by HITACHI. as both factories are very close on the map.

After researching the company RENESAS and trying to figure out where their factories would be, I found a page with all of their manufacturer's and factories on. I search up each one and looked at it in google maps to discern which was most likely to be the right factory. I thought that one of the most likely was close to a HITACHI plant so that made it more likely that that was the answer. I also looked up if RENESAS and HITACHI had any connection and found out about their joint venture. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Renesas_Electronics and https://www.renesas.com/us/en/about/company/profile/global.html and https://www.google.com/maps/place/Renesas+Semiconductor+Manufacturing+Head+Office+%2F+Naka+Factory/@36.3947186,140.5175419,350m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m13!1m7!3m6!1s0x60222f7d0b60ec29:0xcb7351e33dbe5802!2sHoriguchi,+Hitachinaka,+Ibaraki+312-0034,+Japan!3b1!8m2!3d36.3961849!4d140.5174402!3m4!1s0x60222f7c0c555555:0xda5c83edb456243d!8m2!3d36.3940674!4d140.5182488
This website and data sheet is how I found out what the chip was called. (https://www.kynix.com/Detail/673151/HD74HC126P.html). I found this when I researched the number and letters on the top of the chip. I was searching for a link to RENESAS as this was a major company I knew to have made it, and the data-page helped prove that. The links I followed showed me to the page where I found the number on my chip as the first result. The names HITACHI and RENESAS and this page tipped me off to the link they may have. After doing some deeper diffing and research I found that they are connected as they have a joint venture together.
I had originally thought I found the date code but the numbers would have been 8116: 81st week of the year 1916 or the 16th week of the year 1981. Neither of which made sense when compared to when the rest of the components were made.
