SDI technologies contracts out to Valence tech for microchip creation. Disassembling the iHome we discovered multiple boards within the iHome. One for sound, one for the display, and one major integrated board. This integrated board contains the Microcontroller.
Function
The AP918 integrated circuit (IC) is a low-power CMOS 8-bit microcontroller (MCU) for USB audio application with
universal serial bus (USB) peripheral interface designed specifically for applications that require isochronous data
streaming. Applications include iPod digital docking and PC USB audio.
